Lactation Services

There is a lot to learn when beginning your breastfeeding journey. Baby Mama is here to help. Our friendly and informed staff is experienced in assisting both new and experienced parents, knowing that breastfeeding can be different with every baby. We understand that every journey is unique, and we will work with you to create an individualized support plan that fits your specific needs. At Baby Mama, you will be working with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who has extensive training and certification.

We assess your specific breastfeeding challenges, offer solutions, and create a plan to help you and your baby achieve your breastfeeding goals. If you're struggling with latching problems, low milk supply, nipple pain, or concerns about baby gaining weight, we identify the underlying issues to help you address them effectively.

Through prenatal lactation consults, our support starts before birth to help you prepare for when baby arrives. We offer information and education about positioning, latching, and breastfeeding basics which can be especially helpful for first-time parents. In cases of more complex medical issues or special circumstances, such as premature birth, multiples, or health conditions that affect breastfeeding, we provide the expertise to help you navigate these challenges.

No matter what your breastfeeding journey looks like, working with an IBCLC can help boost your confidence and empower you along the way. We offer guidance on pumping, milk storage, and transitioning back to work while continuing to breastfeed. We'd love to help you create a plan that fits your goals, needs, and schedule.

To see if lactation consults are covered by your insurance, please click here. If your insurance does not cover lactation services, the initial consultation fee is $200. Follow-up appointments are $175. If traveling greater than 10 miles and/or 30 minutes, there is a $50 travel fee.
